No. Freemasonry is not a religion and does not offer salvation. Members must profess a belief in a Supreme Being, but the fraternity welcomes men of many faiths and does not permit religious discussion in lodge.

No. Masonic lodges do not endorse candidates or discuss partisan politics. The fraternity focuses on character, fellowship, and charitable work rather than political activity.

No. Pennsylvania Freemasonry welcomes men who seek membership of their own accord. You may express interest directly to a lodge or through the Grand Lodge petition process.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old, of good moral character, believe in a Supreme Being, and be able to read and write English. Additional expectations are reviewed during the petition process.

There are fees associated with the degrees and annual lodge dues. Amounts vary by lodge. Concordia can explain current costs when you inquire — financial need should not be a barrier to sincere candidates.

Most members attend a stated meeting each month and occasional extra meetings or events. Participation beyond that is voluntary — many Brothers also enjoy social activities, education nights, and community service.

Freemasonry encourages members to be better husbands, fathers, and neighbors. Many lodges host family-friendly events. Concordia also supports youth orders such as DeMolay and Rainbow through sponsorship.

A Brother will contact you to answer questions and explain the petition process. If you proceed, you will need two recommenders and will meet with members before the lodge votes on your petition.
